Busy doing nothing
The past few days have been so hot I've hardly dared take Little'un out - on Saturday I walked him into town in his pram and got the week's grocery shopping done and packed into my rucksack, stopped off at Argos for a pram parasol and was home by 10.20 with Little'un stripped down to his nappy and laid out to flail his limbs around as he pleased and enjoy the breeze from the open back door.
As we've been homebodies for a few days I've taken the opportunity to get a few jobs done. I've switched our gas and electricity to a cheaper supplier, taken out a new credit card with a 0% interest rate on balance transfers for 20 months, and transferred the balance from my old credit card to the new one in the hope of getting it paid off sooner. I never make the minimum payment, always paying more to ensure I'm not just covering the interest and leaving myself no chance of ever getting the balance paid in full, but with all of the money I can afford to pay off going towards the balance and not the interest it should shift the debt quicker. This will become even more important in October when I stop receiving a wage or maternity pay.
I've also had a stroke of luck courtesy of Freegle - a neighbour who was getting rid of her mountain bike just happened to post it on the message board while I was online and I snapped it up! It needs one new brake cable and a bit of WD40 but it'll be right as rain in no time, and certainly in useable condition by the time Little'un is sitting up well enough to go in a child seat on the back!
