I shall be having a hypno-aqua-drumming-children of aquarius birth actually...

During my booking-in appointment on Monday I was given a Bounty pack containing a truly staggering amount of information, including information on birth options at the local hospital.

Because I've been put under a consultant (fner fner) home birth isn't an option, and neither unfortunately is the midwife-led unit (unless my pregnancy progresses in a completely trouble-free manner with absolutely no complications whatsoever. Also, with flying pigs and winged monkeys...)

So, my options are basically 'the maternity ward'.

That's fine with me to be honest with you. I will probably write a birth plan, because I like making plans and lists. And I will probably try to get through it with as little pain relief as possible because any form of anaesthetic leaves me completely spaced out and good for nothing for a long time afterwards. But basically, as I explained to the midwife, my attitude to the whole thing is basically that of a pilot.

Any landing you can walk away from...
