Ahoy mateys
Ah ha! Sneakily, it seems my midwife appointments are booked through the hospital and not the GP surgery - the letter for my booking in appointment arrived yesterday just in time for me to arrange time off on Monday afternoon to actually attend it! I'm constantly amazed by medical professionals who seem surprised when you point out that you actually need to arrange time off work to come for these lovely little soirees with them.
Another milestone last night - I went out for my first 'drinks except not' with my team from work. Sweetly they had decided that instead of going to a pub near the office we were going to one of the floating bars on the Thames embankment (I work in London by the way), so I wasn't the only one there battling nausea, even if I was the only one there sipping J20's instead of ice cold wine. I don't think they planned it that way, but it felt like solidarity the way two of them managed to get seasick whilst moored to a 12" square steel girder on a calm evening.
I was so tired this morning I fell asleep on the train in spite of the terrible blaring earphones belonging to the girl sitting next to me. Luckily I woke up before the train reached St Pancras but it left me feeling decidedly groggy for the rest of the morning. Oh well - I'm spending my nights growing someone else's internal organs and fingernails at the moment, so anyone who has a problem with me lolling around in my seat with my mouth wide open making occasional *mnah* sounds can bugger off...
