Looks like it's all about the Mondays

Thanks to a combination of slightly odd menstrual cycles, forgetfulness and a hectic time at work, I didn't even twig that I might be pregnant until I was, by the usual measure of counting from the first day of your last period, almost 9 weeks along. So I'm quite impressed that the GP surgery, midwife and hospital have got my booking in appointment and first scan scheduled so quickly.

We came home from visiting my parents yesterday to an answerphone message from the midwife, Carol, saying that she'd set my booking in appointment for Monday the 1st of August and hopefully that was okay with me as she's now going on holiday for two weeks...

I have to admit it would have been nice if she'd told me the time! I've sent her a text saying Monday the 1st is fine but surely it won't take all day?!

Then this morning a letter arrived from Bedford Hospital containing my appointment for my 12 week scan - Monday the 8th of August! Luckily they did include a time, and it's late enough in the afternoon that I can take a half day from work and just skedaddle home at lunchtime. Hopefully Matt will be able to leave work early as well.
