The Hobbit diet
In an attempt to keep the nausea at bay and deal with the constant hunger in the mornings, I appear to have abandoned the three meals a day approach to nutrition and subscribed to the Hobbit diet at the moment - first breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, supper.
In an attempt to prevent myself from bloating to the size of a shaved gorilla I have stocked my desk at work up with boringly healthy cereal bars, fresh nectarines and bananas, and have stashed a bagful of mullerice's in the fridge. Hopefully that will stop me from eating my own bodyweight in chocolate brownies from the Costa downstairs or barbecueing and eating one of my smaller colleagues...
If my due date of 20th February 2012 is correct, I'm now 10 weeks into my pregnancy with the world's smallest removals expert. According to http://www.babycentre.co.uk/ :
Your embryo is now called a fetus, which means "offspring". She is about 3.1cm long from crown to rump and weighs less than 4g. She may be small, but she's very active, swallowing fluid and kicking her new limbs.
Her vital organs – liver, kidneys, intestines, brain and lungs – are fully formed and functional, while her head is almost half the length of her entire body. Her forehead temporarily bulges and sits high on her head, but later will change into a more baby-like feature. If you could take a look at your baby, you'd be able to see some exciting details, such as fingernails and peach-fuzzy hair. The outline of her spine is clear to see, too. Spinal nerves stretch out from the spinal cord.
And it's not just your baby who's growing. Your uterus (womb) is now the size of a grapefruit. You may even be able to feel it above the middle of your pubic bone.
